A 1945 edition of the Wehrmacht Merkbuch, a pocket reference manual and calendar issued for German military personnel. The front cover states the publication was issued by the NS-Führungsstab der Wehrmacht (National Socialist Leadership Staff of the Wehrmacht). This softbound booklet contains numerous black-and-white illustrations and textual descriptions detailing rank insignia for various organisations, including the Heer (Army), Luftwaffe (Air Force), Waffen-SS, political leaders of the NSDAP, and the Hitler Youth (Hitler-Jugend). The reverse cover features a printed security slogan: Schweigt und warnt jeden, der schwatzt! pst! (Keep silent and warn everyone who gossips! hush!). Information from the seller is that this WW2 item is thought to have belonged to, A M Crozier PTE who was born 29th December 1905. Who served in the local and then National Fire Service (AFS) part time from January 1939 until 17/8/1944.He joined the armed forces at the age of 38 on 15/2/1944 and was posted out in Europe, It believed this was collected when he was in Germany.
