Lot 62: A Group of German Second World War Style Shoulder Boards with Gothic A Monograms

A group of military shoulder boards, of the style associated with the German Wachregiment Berlin from the mid-20th century. Each board is constructed with a black wool central field, bordered by silver-tone wire braid with interwoven black thread accents. The boards are mounted onto dark green wool backings and are of the sew-in variety, featuring reinforced buttonholes at the rounded terminals. Each board is embellished with two silver-tone four-pointed star pips and a central gothic letter A monogram in white metal. The combination of the silver braid and two pips is consistent with the rank of Oberfeldwebel or a similar senior non-commissioned officer grade. Information from the seller is that this WW2 item is thought to have belonged to, A M Crozier PTE who was born 29th December 1905. Who served in the local and then National Fire Service (AFS) part time from January 1939 until 17/8/1944.He joined the armed forces at the age of 38 on 15/2/1944 and was posted out in Europe, It believed this was collected when he was in Germany.
