Buyer's Premium:

A vintage conchological collection featuring a variety of marine gastropod and bivalve specimens. The assortment includes representative examples of cowries (Cypraeidae), cone shells (Conidae), and olive shells (Olividae). A specific specimen of Cypraea camelopardalis (Perry, 1811) is present, accompanied by a handwritten label citing the locality as Massawa, Ethiopia. The collection is organised into approximately 15 small vintage cardboard boxes and trays, many of which are repurposed mid-20th-century Hebrew matchboxes and stationery containers, including brands like Gilad and office supply boxes marked Made in Israel in Hebrew script. Several smaller specimens are contained within clear glass or plastic tubes. The group includes a green-tinted, multi-compartment plastic storage box filled with assorted shells. A handwritten reference to Haifa on one label further suggests a Middle Eastern provenance for the curation of the collection. The entire set is housed in a large, shallow green cardboard tray.
