Now a retired Trawler man from Blyth J.E. Thompson has produced this depicting a harbour scene. The composition features several fishing trawlers, including vessels with the registrations GY326 and GY325, moored alongside a dock. The work is executed in an impressionistic maritime style. The artist captures atmospheric light, using thick white highlights to define the vessels and their reflections. The background depicts the industrial architecture of the dockside under a muted sky. The painting is signed in a stylized hand J.T. THOMPSON. in the lower right corner. It is housed in a dark wood frame with a gilt inner slip and a cream-coloured mount.
