This assortment of Second World War German military and civilian insignia is mounted upon a weathered brown leather souvenir belt, colloquially known as a hate belt. The collection features several metal badges and pins attached directly through the leather strap. Included are a Heer army belt buckle with eagle, swastika, and the motto GOTT MIT UNS, a 1939 Spange to the Iron Cross 2nd Class, a Tank Assault Badge (Panzerkampfabzeichen), and a black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen). The belt also displays metal GFP letters, an Honour Cross of the German Mother (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter) with blue enamel detailing marked Stalingrad and two cap wreaths with central cockades. Some of the attachments show makeshift paper backing on the reverse. Information from the seller is that this WW2 item is thought to have belonged to, A M Crozier PTE who was born 29th December 1905. Who served in the local and then National Fire Service (AFS) part time from January 1939 until 17/8/1944.He joined the armed forces at the age of 38 on 15/2/1944 and was posted out in Europe, It believed this was collected when he was in Germany.
