A Royal Crown Derby fine bone china paperweight, modelled as a standing chipmunk or ground squirrel. The figurine is decorated in a variation of the traditional Imari palette, featuring cobalt blue, iron red, and 22ct gold highlights. The front of the animal is detailed with stylized red and gold maple leaves and winged maple seeds (samaras) set against a white ground. The head, back, and limbs are finished in a dense, stylized fur pattern rendered in blue and gold. The base features a red printed Royal Crown Derby mark with a central crown over a D monogram, the Roman numeral date code LIII for 1990, a hand-painted capital C in brown, and a group of four small dots. The piece is fitted with a gold-coloured ceramic stopper embossed with Royal Crown Derby Bone China around a crown and D monogram.
