A etching by the renound British maritime artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931), depicting a coastal scene of St Mary’s Lighthouse at Whitley Bay. The composition features figures and a dog traversing the wet sands in the foreground, with seagulls in flight and distant ships on the horizon. The work is executed with the soft, burry lines characteristic of the drypoint technique, creating subtle tonal variations across the seascape. The print is pencil-signed by the artist in the lower left margin and displays clear, rectangular plate marks. It is professionally presented in a contemporary dark-wood frame with a silvered inner slip and a cream mount.
