George Horton (British, 1859-1950), The Wellesley Training Ship on Tyne, etching . The subject matter depicts the three-masted wooden sailing vessel HMS Wellesley moored in a harbour, with tiled-roof buildings and chimneys in the foreground. The print features deep blacks in the hull of the ship and visible plate marks. It is titled in pencil to the lower left margin The Wellesley on Tyne and signed in pencil to the lower right margin George Horton. The work is presented in a dark grey mount and a modern light-wood frame.
