Now a retired Trawler man from Blyth J.E. Thompson has produced this artwork which depicts two rusted, decommissioned ships, moored together in a calm bay with a backdrop of snow-dusted mountains. The composition uses a palette of earthy rust tones and ochres for the vessels, contrasted with cool blues and greys for the water and sky. The signature is J, E, Thompson. The artwork is presented in a cream mount within a dark wood frame featuring a gilt inner slip.
