A small sterling silver decorative dish designed in the form of a fluted scallop shell. The piece features a wide, ornate rim embellished with cast and chased C-scrolls and foliate motifs in the Rococo taste. The dish is supported by three small feet with corresponding scrolling designs. The underside is stamped with a 925 fineness mark within a rectangular punch, indicating sterling silver. A second, smaller rectangular mark is present to the left of the fineness mark but is too worn to be legible. No assay office or date letters are visible.
