This scientific instrument is a decorative Galileo thermometer, featuring a tall, sealed glass cylinder with a pointed tip and an integrated circular glass base. The interior of the cylinder is filled with a clear liquid, housing six individually blown glass spheres. Each sphere contains a different coloured liquid, including shades of dark green, red, amber, and pale yellow. Suspended from a glass loop at the bottom of each sphere is a circular metal tag. These tags are stamped with temperature increments in degrees Celsius; legible markings include 20, 22, and 26. The thermometer operates through the principles of buoyancy and density variation. As the temperature of the surrounding air changes, the density of the liquid within the cylinder shifts, causing the calibrated floats to move vertically. No manufacturer markings, labels, or signatures are visible on the glass body or the metal tags.
