The composition features figures standing upon a weathered wooden pier in the foreground, adjacent to moored sailing vessels, with a row of townhouses and a prominent watchtower or lighthouse, potentially the High Light, rising in the misty background. Signed Liddell in the lower right corner. The piece is housed in a dark-stained moulded wooden frame under a mount. The verso bears a printed label for F. L.
