A watercolour on paper by the artist J. Hush, depicting the coastal ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle in Northumberland. The composition features a winding track in the foreground leading through scrubland and gorse towards the distant fortification. The sky is rendered with atmospheric, heavy grey and blue washes, suggesting overcast conditions. The work is signed J. HUSH in the lower left corner. The painting is housed behind glass in a multi-layered cream mount with a decorative double ruled border in black and gold, set within a dark mahogany-toned wood frame with a gilt inner slip.
