Now a retired Trawler man from Blyth J.E. Thompson has produced this composition depicts Seaton Sluice. The style is representational with an impressionistic handling of light and reflection, typical of mid-to-late 20th-century British topographical art. The painting bears the signature J. E. Thompson in lower right corner. It is housed in a glazed, dark wood-effect frame with a gilt inner slip and an off-white mount.
