An impressionistic coastal landscape depicting St Mary’s Lighthouse and its surrounding outbuildings on a rocky outcrop, captured from the Whitley Bay shoreline. The work is characterised by a confident, highly textural impasto technique, with visible, expressive brushwork throughout the sky, water, and rugged foreground. Signed J Slater in the lower right corner. Housed in an ornate, weathered gilt-finished frame featuring a multi-layered, ruled cream mat under glass. A partial verso label identifies the piece as having passed through W. Carling & Son, Fine Art Dealers, 19 Station Road, Whitley Bay, which aligns with the local subject matter.
